PVC 4DAT is a field-first planning, inventory, and bill of materials tool for PVC projects. This Privacy Policy explains what information the PVC 4DAT apps (iOS and Android) and website may collect, how that information is used, and the choices available to users.
The short version, which we call the 4DAT method: your data lives on your device. No account is required, nothing is uploaded unless you explicitly turn on sync, and we never use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
Information we collect
PVC 4DAT may collect or store information that you provide while using the app, including project names, pipe and fitting inventory, layout details, measurements, bill of materials data, notes, and related jobsite planning information.
If you choose to use image-assisted features, the app may access photos, camera input, or image files that you select or capture for project analysis. The app does not access your camera or photo library unless you grant permission through iOS.
How we use information
Information is used to provide and improve PVC 4DAT functionality, including:
- Creating and managing PVC project plans.
- Tracking inventory, parts, pipe sizes, fittings, and project materials.
- Generating bills of materials and project summaries.
- Supporting optional image-assisted project workflows.
- Improving app reliability, usability, and performance.
Data sharing
We do not sell user data. We do not use user data for third-party advertising. We only share information when needed to operate the service, comply with the law, protect rights and safety, or with your direction when you choose to export, share, or submit project information.
Amazon affiliate links
PVC 4DAT Pro can show "Buy on Amazon" links for parts a project still needs. These are Amazon search links carrying the 4DAT Associate tag; opening one takes you to Amazon, where Amazon's own privacy policy applies. PVC 4DAT does not share your inventory or project data with Amazon, and we receive only the aggregate commission reporting Amazon provides to associates. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
Subscriptions
PVC 4DAT Pro is sold as an in-app subscription processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We do not receive or store your payment details; the store manages billing and provides us with the subscription status needed to unlock Pro features on your device. Pro is tied to your store account, not to a 4DAT Account.
On-device data
PVC 4DAT stores your project, plan, inventory, and reservation data locally on your device by default. Project photos are stored only on your device and are never uploaded.
Optional 4DAT Account and sync
In app versions that offer it, you can create an optional 4DAT Account to sync your data between devices. If — and only if — you sign in and turn sync on, we store:
- Your email address, used to sign you in with one-time codes (we never see or store a password) and to identify your account for deletion requests.
- Your synced app content — the same projects, plans, inventory, and shopping data you see in the app, stored as-is so your other devices can download it. Our sync server does not read, analyze, or mine this content; project photos are excluded and stay on your device.
Signing in without enabling sync uploads nothing. Account data is hosted for us by Cloudflare, Inc. and kept only until you delete it: deleting your account removes your email address and all synced content immediately. Service logs are operational only (no content, no email addresses) and are retained briefly for reliability and abuse prevention.
Camera and photo permissions
Camera and photo permissions are used only for user-selected PVC project capture, reference, analysis, or documentation workflows. You can change app permissions at any time in iOS Settings.
Analytics and diagnostics
PVC 4DAT contains no third-party analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs. The only diagnostics we receive are the aggregate crash and performance reports that Apple and Google provide to developers when you have opted in to sharing them at the OS level; they are used solely to keep the app reliable.
Website hosting
The PVC 4DAT website may be hosted using infrastructure providers such as Cloudflare Pages. Like most web services, hosting providers may process basic technical information such as IP address, browser type, request logs, and security-related metadata to deliver and protect the website.
Children's privacy
PVC 4DAT is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Data choices and deletion
On-device data: delete projects in the app, clear local data where available, or uninstall the app. 4DAT Account data: delete your account and everything synced to it, immediately, either in the app (Settings → 4DAT Account → Delete account) or — with no app installed — at pvc4dat.com/delete-account. You can also export your synced data from within the app at any time.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as PVC 4DAT evolves. Updates will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
